Ok maybe they didnt steal my heart but they definitely stole my admiration! So here is my story of what happened and the snowball that came so fucking close to being the coolest thing a person will ever do in their lifetime.

I haven't read any scientific journal or publication not because of the sheer volume or complexity of the content within but rather the extremely formal and scientific language of the content that makes them feel soulless and more like a punishment to the person reading them. I would really like it if someone could recommend a paper, preferably in the field in science and pertaining to an easy topic, where the author has some sense of humour and is able to retain my attention span all the way till the end.

It's just a day in the grand scope of things, but here I am.

Last year I moved into a townhome after my wife and I separated. Her and my kids went to Ohio to spend Thanksgiving with her side of the family (it’s something we’d always done even as a family). I was supposed to go to Puerto Rico last Thanksgiving, but that didn’t work out. So I ended up at a friend’s house with their family.

Another (US, yes, other cultures feel free to substitute your own here) Thanksgiving. I don't really enjoy turkey, I have food issues anyway, feasting is very conflicted.

Wife just got me a soda maker. We were sipping and chatting idly about how it's so weird that our little town doesn't offer recycling on our street. The bubbles were so strong that right on cue I was able to burp-scream WUD THE FUHHHHGHHKK about it

Being a really emotional guy is wonderful! I love how much joy I can find in the smallest things. I adore how much warmth and goodwill I feel towards people I barely even know. And it warms my heart knowing that I strongly wish to spread love and joy, be there for friends in need, and offer gentle, compassionate support. My whole being yearns to connect deeply with others and show them great affection through my words and actions.

I sometimes feel like an outlier because Autumn and Winter happen to be my favourite seasons. I love chilly air since I deal with the cold way better than I do with the heat, and I find it so much more refreshing... my all time favourite type of weather is best described with a picture (Disclaimer: not my photo!)

I'm in the process if working on a story and a small detail came to mind, as something I can add to give more depth to one of the characters.

Thinking about them lately, curious if I'm late or early

You probably know about those *imaginary* art subreddits, where you can share art with specific theme (e.g., ImaginaryMonsters where you can share artwork with...imaginary monsters, yes) and there is a bunch of these. I was thinking of making one community that I would call something like *ImaginaryAnything* where people could share art with any theme, and just mention the theme in the title, instead of having 100s of communities for each specific one, since lemmy is pretty small still. There already are some specific imaginary communities on lemmy but non of them are really active.

What's their story?

This might sound harsh but honestly atleast my life is really underwhelming, no matter what I try.

So I'm from Europe and went on a business trip to South Korea. I haven't been dating much but installed a dating app thinking why the hell not. Anyway, I matched with one woman and we start talking and it gets deep quickly and after a couple of days she gets impatient that I didn't suggest to meet up so she suggests it. We meet up in a Korean sashimi restaurant and I talk most of the time - I guess because she is self conscious of her English - but she listens actively and it's really nice.

If you read my previous post on other place I asked about dating and most responses sounded like it was nice. Yes, I'm aware that relationships are not only good times (I've seen my mother being tired of her partner and scared of my father) but when you have literally NOTHING in your life you can't help to idolising the things you never had...

I am not sure how to commemorate with a present. I talked about it, but she said last year can't get better.

I am mid-40s. My daughter is 11. I take her to school, among other driving things, and usually play NPR. Whenever she needs to refer to what she's hearing -- usually to ask if I'll turn it off so she can pull up some godawful thing where a random Youtuber squawks discordant lyrics to a Pokémon video game score -- she calls it a podcast. I've stopped correcting her, particularly since most of the "shows" release as podcasts by the next day anyway.

Too embarassed to tell anyone I know IRL, but am excited for my new future. Been throwing alot of money with small things. PC, alcohol, movies (and im ashamed to say, funko pops). Recently i took the plunge and cut out alcohol in an attempt to get my life together, and i feel like i have a whole new start.

I sometimes click in some random clip of current anime someone uploaded on YouTube, like I dunno attack on titan or chainsaw dude, but that's it. They look cool but despite having the time to watch it I just don't feel compelled to watch the whole show.

I feel like past a certain age everyone doesn't like growing older. For me I have that same feeling plus the added pressure that every year I go from being an X year old virgin to an X+1 one year old virgin. I'm about to finish collage and go into the work field which given my internship I can already tell I won't have much of a chance at meeting new people even less girls.

I moved to a house (my first) recently and we bought full size chocolate bars and beef jerky sticks to give out (in case someone doesn't want chocolate).

Please just read without judging me, I'm up to conversation as long as you don't tell "you can do it!" Or "man up bitch" I don't need that type of dialogue, I've been beaten enough, even by my own family.

To be honest, the case is still the original one, but almost every other part has since been replaced. Now, I’ve taken it back to the shop where I bought it 20 years ago and asked them to upgrade the motherboard, CPU, and memory - the last of the original parts.

YouTube? Deleted comment. Twitter? Banned, Reddit? Shadow banned and blocked Xbox live? You get kicked out online mode despite you are PAYING for it. You can't express your anger or hate towards other people without some kind of freedom.

I thought this would be relevant now more than ever (after having secured permission to ask about it) since there are three days left until Halloween, and after that, pre-Christmas-season will have begun (unless you consider Thanksgiving to be separate from that), and people will begin asking for things for Christmas.
