Under some circumstances, if you throw a D8 and then a D12 at an enemy, thanks to the D8's greater pointiness you actually have to roll a D12 and D8 respectively to determine damage.

Counterpoint we often overlook how a good slingshot can be very effective!

There's a bit in Darths and Droids where Jim uses an ability to reroll dice in order to cheat at dice.

Ben: That's on your sheet? Why haven't you used this before?
Jim: Nobody's rolled any dice before!
GM: We've been rolling dice since the campaign started!
Jim: Oh, those dice.

Darths and Droids is the shit!

Jar Jar you are a genius!

Die piercing damage scales inversely with the size of the die. d20? Basically round. Bludgeoning only. d4? The only weapon with a d20 damage roll

I bought my wife a beautiful set of metallic dices. Our table takes 1d20+3 damages everytime she rolls the D4…

Sounds like the next thing she needs is a lovely velvet lined rolling box :)

I'm enjoying the D&D comics lately. Feels like Randall has started playing haha

But the d12 would be denser and heavier right? At range, I’d go with the d12 or d20 for more damage. I suppose for close up melee a d4 or d8 might be somewhat more effective against chain or cloth armor.
