One neat trick to maintain profit in the short-term: reduce services, extract additional value from your workers. Will work long enough to retire as an executive. For anyone else you are SOL, lol.
Seems to be the driving force for a LOT of companies these days - particularly in tech (*ahem* M$ *cough*). Late stage capitalism, indeed.
Just on the surface, this is probably related to loosing the exclusive contract for Amazon deliveries.
